The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2022 Music City Bowl.
Kentucky Wildcats Draft Prospects
Justin Rogers, DL
Rogers has spent three seasons with the Wildcats and has really been good for the team over the last two years. He has 58 total tackles, four tackles for loss and three sacks in his career. This season, Rogers has registered 32 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.
He has elite size for the interior defensive line at 6-foot-3 and 336 pounds. His production isn’t the greatest, but an interior lineman’s impact isn’t always shown in the stat sheet. With eligibility remaining, Rogers may return to school to improve his production and stock.
Projected Draft Range: Fifth Round Pick-Seventh Round Pick
Tayvion Robinson, WR
Robinson started his career at Virginia Tech before transferring to Kentucky for this season. For his career, Robinson has 148 catches for 2,025 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2022, Robinson has caught 35 passes for 470 yards and three touchdowns.
At 5-foot-10 and 187 pounds, Robinson is below the average size for an NFL wide receiver. He has lined up in the slot and can be successful there at the next level. Robinson also has value as a punt returner, which boosts his stock.
Projected Draft Range: Fifth Round Pick-Seventh Round Pick
*QB Will Levis has opted out for this game. He is a projected first-round pick.
* RB Chris Rodriguez has opted out for this game. He is a projected late-round pick.
*CB Carrington Valentine has opted out for this game. He is a projected late-round pick.
Other Draft Prospects: TE Keaton Upshaw (UFA)
Iowa Hawkeyes Draft Prospects
Riley Moss, CB
Moss has spent five seasons with Iowa and has developed into a nice draft prospect during his tenure. He has 157 total tackles, 11 interceptions and 25 passes defended in his career. This season, Moss has 46 total tackles, one interception and 10 passes defended.
He has solid size for an NFL corner at 6-foot-1 and 194 pounds, but will likely need to add weight to his frame. Moss has shown good ball skills through his career, but he isn’t the most quick or agile corner, which leads to good route-runners beating him.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Jack Cambell, LB
Campbell has been at Iowa for four seasons and has been a leader on the defense for the last two seasons. He has 289 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and two sacks in his career. This season, he has 115 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions.
At 6-foot-5 and 243 pounds, Campbell has elite size for the position. He has shown he can help an NFL defense stop the run by shedding blocks and taking down ball carriers. Campbell does have some limitations in coverage.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
*S Kaevon Merriweather has opted out for this game. He is a projected undrafted free agent.
Other Draft Prospects: TE Sam LaPorta (3-5), LB Seth Benson (6-UFA), P Tory Taylor (UFA), FB Monte Pottebaum (UFA)
