Position: Wide Receiver

Class: Junior

Size: 6-foot-1, 192 pounds

2019 stats: 77 receptions, 1,163 receiving yards, 10 touchdowns, 15.1 yards per catch

Jeudy was a very successful player over his three seasons at Alabama. He is projected to be picked in the top half of the first round, so he decided to forego his remaining eligibility and go to the NFL.

As a freshman, he got his feet wet with 14 receptions for 264 yards and two touchdowns. The year after in 2018, Jeudy finished with 68 receptions for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns, as he helped lead Alabama to the National Championship Game. In his junior season, Jeudy totaled 77 receptions for 1,163 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, but the team couldn’t overcome Tua Tagovailoa’s hip injury, and missed out on the College Football Playoff. They still won 11 games for a successful season by most programs’ standards.

Throughout his college career, Jeudy proved to be a big-time playmaker, which has made him into a top draft prospect. He won’t have to wait very long to hear his name called by the commissioner in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Strengths

Jeudy is an elite route-runner in this class. To start, he runs a variety of different routes for a solid route tree to go to. He also is great at running each route. His quickness and speed help him get in and out of breaks quickly, which leads to him getting open often. When he needs to, he is able to find the soft spot in a zone to give his quarterback options

His speed and quickness are also major strengths. Defensive backs have a hard time keeping up with him because he is fast and changes direction so quickly. He will be able to separate and get open often at the NFL level because of these traits. His ability to beet defenders deep is also apparent because of his speed.

Once the ball is in his hands, Jeudy is a threat to take it to the end zone every time. He uses his speed, quickness and some great juke moves to make even the best defenders miss. While he can be a deep threat, teams will love that they can get him the ball on screens and crossing routes and he will do the rest of the work.

Weaknesses

Jeudy drops way too many passes. These are focus drops and contested drops, but he needs to improve on this for the next level. He dropped some key passes against LSU this season that could have made a difference. Inconsistent hands are frustrating, but if he stops catching with his body that will at least correct some of the problem.

He has decent height, but Jeudy needs to add strength to his frame. Jeudy could have trouble with press coverage at the next level and did get pushed off of his routes several times in college. If he is more physical, he could push defenders away to create separation.

While he shows good effort as a blocker, he doesn’t always get the job done. This probably also has to do with his play strength, but also his technique. In the NFL, he will have to focus on adding strength and using it well as a blocker to be a more complete receiver.
