The 2022 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Channing Tindall 2022 NFL Draft Profile.
Channing Tindall Background
Position:Â Linebacker
Size:Â 6-foot-2, 230 pounds
Class:Â Senior
2021 stats:Â 67 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble
While he played early in his career, Tindall really stepped his game up in 2021 and became a notable draft prospect. Now he is preparing for the NFL Draft.
Out of high school, Tindall was a four-star prospect from South Carolina who signed with Georgia. He had 17 tackles as a freshman and nine as a sophomore. As a junior, he had 15 total tackles, four tackles for loss and three sacks. He really saw an increase in his usage when he was a senior in 2021. Tindall registered 67 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. His play helped Georgia win the National Championship.
Following the season, Tindall declared for the 2022 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a second to fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Channing Tindall Strengths
Tindall is a solid athlete for a linebacker. He has good agility, acceleration and speed. Tindall has good body control as well and is even decently strong for the position. There aren’t many more athletic linebackers in the class.
He is specifically good at locating the football against the run. Once he finds it, he shows good pursuit. He can go from sideline to sideline making plays. When he gets to the ball carrier, Tindall can make a good form tackle to finish the play.
As mentioned, Tindall is a great tackler. When he sees the football he has a good closing burst to reach the ball carrier. Once there he wraps up and makes the play. He occasionally can lay down some big hits to help set the tone for his defense.
Channing Tindall Weaknesses
Tindall needs to prove he can do more in coverage. There are times when he gives up too much separation and catches to his opponents. In zone coverage, he can play too far off and give the receiver too much of a cushion to make a play.
He only really played a key role for one season on a very good defense. That means he is relatively inexperienced. It also means that because of Georgia’s great defensive front, he was free to run right to the ball without too much traffic.
There are some times when Tindall misdiagnosis plays. He can be fooled by play action and misdirections. Hopefully, with more reps, he can improve his recognition. If he can, it will take some false steps and misreads out of his game.
Projected Draft Range:Â Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick
