Shooting guard Victor Oladipo has agreed to a new contract with the Miami Heat. He was traded to Miami from the Houston Rockets in 2021. Oladipo played just four games with the Heat before having season-ending surgery to repair his right quad.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Oladipo will eye 2022 free agency to return to the market and sign a big contract once he's fully healthy. Miami will retain Oladipo's Bird Rights, allowing them to find the means to sign him again next offseason. https://t.co/IRPUndKXgj

Oladipo has been a career 17.5 points per game scorer, adding four assists and 4.6 rebounds to his stat line. The main issue has been his inability to stay healthy. He has played less than 70 games in four of his last five seasons, leading to two trades of the 29-year-old.
The Miami Heat continue their free agency spending spree, signing Oladipo to help bolster their roster. They have also re-signed Jimmy Butler and acquired Kyle Lowry, among others.
