Thompson, 29, has spent his entire nine-year career with the Cavaliers. Over his nine seasons, he has averaged 9.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
The Celtics started Daniel Thies at center last season and had Enes Kanter as a backup, but Kanter signed with the Trail Blazers already this offseason. Thompson will give the team a boost in the rebounding department.
