Trevor Ariza is officially a member of the Detroit Pistons. The former Trailblazer has been traded by the Rockets to Detroit along with the 16th pick in tonight’s draft. Houston received a future first round draft pick from the trade as well. Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news recently on twitter:
Houston is trading Trevor Ariza and the No. 16 pick tonight to Detroit for a future first-round pick, sources tell ESPN. The deal gives the Rockets – a hard-capped team — the freedom to use their mid-level exception in free agency.

This is the second time this week that the Ariza has been traded to another team. If Detroit is his last stop, they’ve gotten a guy who can give them a veteran presence on the court. In addition, Ariza is still a solid 3 & D player who averaged 11 points per game while shooting 40 percent from three last season.
With the trade going through the Detroit Pistons now have the 7th & the 16th pick in tonight’s draft. They’ll look to get some youth to retool and play beside Blake Griffin. The projected players they could possibly draft in these slots are SF Issac Okoro(7th) and SG R.J. Hampton(16th). Furthermore, of these players have bright futures and could possibly have a positive impact on the team. On the other hand, there’s a possibility that the pistons could trade both picks for someone else. Only time will tell what Detroit will do with these picks. Tune into the NBA Draft tonight to find out the future of this team.
