Here is a Thunder VS. Suns Recap. After riding a three game win streak, the Thunder finally lost a game to the home team Suns. They lost 101-113 but it still showed many OKC fans lots of promise. The losses are going to come naturally as the Thunder have fully embraced the tank. Now that the regularly scheduled tank statement has been addressed, here are the performances from the Thunder side. This is a Thunder VS. Suns Recap.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Recap
Alexander had yet another phenomenal performance. He finished the game with a line of 29 points, five boards, seven assists and one block. The shooting splits were impressive as well: 10/20 from the field, 2/6 from three and 7/7 from the free throw line. Alexander has put up some very impressive numbers in the last couple weeks. Over the last two weeks, he has put up averages of 22.7 points, five boards, 5.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks a game on 44% from the field and 92% from the line. He is also putting up 1.4 threes a game. The field goal percentage is a bit of a concern right now but as the season goes on, he’ll figure it out more and more. Just wait until he catches fire on a consistent basis.
Aleksej Pokusevski Performance
It’s really disappointing to see him get such little time on the court. Despite the promising rookie season, he is doing little to nothing this time around. Poku finished this game with just 12 and a half minutes played and had a line of zero points and rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block on 0/2 shooting from the field (both threes). Poku should see more playing time as the vets stop getting regular minutes in the rotation. The fact that he isn’t getting any minutes now (and Isaiah Roby as a matter of fact) is very concerning but it shouldn’t be happening for the rest of the season.
Josh Giddey Performance
Giddey just looks like the complete player Sam Presti was hoping for. He finished this game with a line of 17 points, six boards, two dimes, and he gathered a steal. He shot 7/17 from the field, 1/4 from three and 2/3 from the line. The shooting was a bit disappointing but it doesn’t matter as he’s gotten better and better every single game. Giddey’s playstyle is extremely versatile and he just looks complete at this point. He needs to improve his shooting percentages and three point attempts in order to keep defenses honest. Once he improves his shooting and defense, he’s going to be one of the top players in the league in no time.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl Performance
Earl played 32 minutes and put up a line of 11 points, five boards and one block on 4/9 from the field, 3/6 from three and 0/2 from the field. It isn’t the greatest line in the world but he still put up his patented accurate three point shooting. The minutes were there this time around as Derrick Favors was rested. In the future, Earl is more than likely going to be the main man in the middle for this club. Expect Earl to see more minutes in the future as one of the main big men on the roster.
