This is a Thunder vs. Nets recap. The OKC Thunder took care of business away from home against a Brooklyn team playing without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Nevertheless, the Thunder had a great all-around game from everyone. This article is going over the Thunder vs. Nets Recap.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Performance
What a performance from the man known as Shai. He finished with a spicy line: 33 points, ten boards, nine dimes, one steal and two swats. The shooting was also beautiful: 11/18 from the field, 2/5 from three and 9/10 from the line. This guy is simply good at basketball and it’s clear that he’s having some fun right now. In fact, over the last month, he had been putting in averages of 24.7 points, 5.0 boards, 5.8 dimes, one steal and 0.8 blocks a game on 44% from the field and 87% from the line. There is no telling whether or not he’ll be dealt at the line (more than likely not), but he should continue making a bunch of noise for the tanking Thunds.
Lu Dort Performance
Dort had a very good offensive game. He poured in 27 points on 9/17 shooting, 6/10 from three and 3/4 from the line. He rounded out the line with one board and two assists. Dort, much like Alexander, is good at basketball. He continues to perform at a high level and only develops more as the games pass by. OKC is still in tank mode so Dort’s development is one of their main priorities at the moment. Despite the amazing game, Dort has been struggling to shoot the ball lately. Over the last month, he has been averaging 15.8 points, 4.5 boards, 1.4 assists. 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks a game on 36% from the field and 84% from the line. Expect him to continue being one of the main sources of offense on this squad.
Tre Mann Performance
Mann stuffed the stat sheet this game. Despite coming off the bench and playing 23 minutes, he put up seven points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block on 3/5 from the field and 1/2 from three. Mann has been very up and down this season because of the random minutes and the bench role. This season, Mann has put in averages of 7.3 points, 2.4 boards, 0.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks a game on 40% from the field and 67% from the line. Not exactly perfect, but he’s doing his best to get in the rotation on an every-night basis.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl Performance
Earl is getting run as a starter for this team but he hasn’t done a whole lot. This game was no different, unfortunately. Earl finished with a goose egg in the points category, four boards, two assists and two blocks in 24 minutes. Favors and Muscala playing behind him take away his appeal due to him losing a couple minutes to them. Once they’re gone and no centers come back in a trade or through the waiver wire, maybe he can get it going. Earl is an exceptional defender who has a fantastic three-point shot when he can get it going. Hopefully, he can get it going sooner rather than later, though.
