Semi-professional basketball player Keifer Sykes has signed his first contract with an NBA team as of Tuesday night. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news via Twitter.
After hitting a game-winner to win The Basketball Tournament $1M prize, guard Keifer Sykes has agreed to a deal with the Indiana Pacers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Sykes is most recently receiving acclaim for hitting the game-winning shot in The Basketball Tournament. This is a tournament made up of teams of semi-professional players in which the winning team receives $1 million. He hit a three-pointer to reach the 69-point score required to take home the championship.
Previously, he played in the NBA’s G-League, Korea, Turkey, Italy, China, Greece and Australia before inking this deal with the Pacers. The details of the 27-year-old’s contract have not been made public at time of writing.
