Many players are going to be in contention for the All-NBA teams. Due to the surplus of talent that’s sweeping the league, it’s hard to tell who will make the teams. Who will make them? Who will be the honorable mentions?
All-NBA Third Team
Russell Westbrook / Shai Gilgeous-Alexander / John Collins / Tobias Harris / Kyrie Irving
Westbrook and Irving will be important catalyst players for their respective teams but they won’t be the top dogs. However, they will be making an All-NBA team regardless of what may happen this season. Basketball bookies are saying that Alexander and Collins could be making some noise this season. Both of them could surprise everyone and make their first All-NBA selection. The same goes with Harris, who will be shouldering a bigger load on the offensive end along with teammate Joel Embiid. Three new players could be making their first All-NBA team this year due to bigger roles and more opportunities. Expect them to make any team this year. Some honorable mentions are Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry and C.J. McCollum.
All-NBA Second Team
Chris Paul / Paul George / Trae Young / Rudy Gobert / Jayson Tatum
Starting off, Tatum is expected to increase his productivity this season as he’s looking like one of the best young stars in the league. Along with him, Young, Gobert, George and Paul are going to have productive seasons. George is going to be without Kawhi Leonard for a while so expect his stats to be inflated. The same goes with Young and the Hawks. Gobert will be his usual defensive-anchor self for the Jazz this year and be among the league leaders in blocks/rebounds. Chris Paul will be the floor general alongside Devin Booker this season and be his usual productive self. Some honorable mentions are Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard and Bam Adebayo.
All-NBA First Team
Nikola Jokic / Luka Doncic / Lebron James / Joel Embiid / Stephen Curry
Expect these studs to make the All-NBA First Team. Lebron will go and do Lebron things like he usually does somehow. Jokic is going to be his usual dominant self and continue being an offensive superstar due to the absence of Jamal Murray. Doncic is going to be carrying a huge load for the Mavs yet again due to a lackluster offseason from the Mavs front office. Finally, Curry is going to be his usual MVP-like self. However, it’ll be a little harder for him to draw penalties from jump shots but it shouldn’t matter as he isn’t really a foul merchant. Expect all of these players to be in the running for MVP this season as they all try to carry their teams to the finals. Some honorable mentions are Anthony Davis, Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant, James Harden.
