Matas Buzelis Strengths
Buzelis has great size for a forward in the NBA. He stands at 6-foot-8 and 197 pounds, making him a bigger wing player. Buzelis also has a big wingspan at 6-foot-10, enabling him to match up with bigger players and use his length well.
For his size, Buzelis has solid athleticism and body control. He has the ability to push the ball in transition. Buzelis has solid speed. Buzelis also has good leaping ability, which he shows with his dunks and his ability to block shots.
Guarding on the ball provides its issues, but Buzelis has a good idea of team defense. He knows when to switch and rotate to help the defense. Buzelis can make good blocks from the backside. He shows a good recognition of how offenses will attack him.
Matas Buzelis Weaknesses
While Buzelis has shown some flashes as a shooter, he really struggled in the G-League. He shot just 22.2 percent from 3-point range in the G-League. Buzelis has the potential to stretch the floor, but has to show more consistency.
Buzelis turned the ball over a lot in the G-League. He averaged more turnovers than assists. This is sometimes due to him not having the best ball-handling skills. He also can struggle to see the floor clearly on the offensive end of the floor.
He is a good dunker, but Buzelis needs to finish better at the rim. Buzelis can finish through contact better. He can struggle to get to the basket and needs to do a better job of using both hands to throw defenders off.
