NFL Draft Prospects in the 2024 Cure Bowl

Publish Date: December 13, 2024

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2024 Cure Bowl.

Ohio Bobcats Draft Prospects

Anthony Tyus II, RB

Tyus spent three seasons at Northwestern to start his college career. He had some decent stats, but never had a large role in the offense. Tyus then transferred to Ohio for the 2024 season. In 2024, he had 1,111 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

At 6-foot-1 and 226 pounds, Tyus has good size for the position at the NFL level. He has solid contact balance, but could improve his ability as a receiver to become a more well-rounded back. Tyus has just one year of big production, but played well enough to warrant getting some attention.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Coleman Owen, WR

Owen spent five seasons at Northern Arizona at the FCS level. He transferred to Ohio before the 2024 season. In his lone season as a Bobcat, he produced at a high level. He has 67 catches for 1,105 yards and eight touchdowns.

At 5-foot-11 and 191 pounds, Owen is smaller for a receiver at the NFL level. He may be resigned to playing in the slot. He adjusted to the jump in competition this season and may be able to do so again if he is given a chance.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Other Draft Prospects: EDGE Bradley Weaver (UFA), QB Parker Navarro (UFA), IOL Parker Titsworth (UFA), IOL Carson Heidecker (IOL)

Jacksonville State Gamecocks Draft Prospects

Clay Webb, IOL

Webb spent 2019-2021 at Georgia, where he saw some time on the field as a reserve. He transferred to Jacksonville State for the 2022 season and has been there ever since. He was named All-Conference USA for his play during the 2023 and 2024 season.

At 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, Webb isn’t the biggest guard in the class. He will need to add weight to his frame to hold up in the trenches. This will help him clear holes, but also anchor as a pass protector. He could be selected in the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Projected Draft Range: Fourth Round Pick-Sixth Round Pick

Tre Stewart, RB

Stewart played three seasons at Limestone University, which is at the DII level. He transferred to Jacksonville State just for the 2024 season, but has made an impact. This season, he has rushed for 1,604 yards and 23 touchdowns.

He stands at 5-foot-10 and 192 pounds, which is sightly undersized for an NFL running back. Stewart showed off some receiving skills this season and also handled the jump from DII to DI very well. His production will get him some NFL looks.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Other Draft Prospects: OT Will O’Steen (UFA)
