Johnson, 38, last played for the Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz in the 2017-2018 season. He is a seven-time All-Star who also spent time with the Heat, Nets, Hawks, Suns and Celtics.
The Pistons have a solid frontcourt with Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, but Johnson could fill some holes in their depth on the perimeter.
