The Miami Heat are continuing their free agency spending spree in an attempt to get back to the NBA Finals once again. Free agent forward Markieff Morris will sign a one-year deal with the Heat. He spent part of 2020 and all of 2021 with LeBron James and the Lakers.
ESPN’s Wojnarowski reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday evening.

Morris won the 2020 NBA Championship in the Orlando “bubble” with the Lakers. He joined the team after the Pistons agreed to buy out his contract. The Los Angeles contract amounted to just $1.75 million, but earned him a ring.
He played in 61 games with L.A., started 27 of them. He averaged just 6.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in 2021, but was a role player at best. NBA fans will have to wait and see how big of a role he plays on a new-look Heat team that includes Kyle Lowry and Jimmy Butler, among other big money signings.
