A huge four-team trade has been made ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline, involving four different players and five second round NBA Draft Picks. Maybe the biggest piece of this trade is former second overall pick, James Wiseman.
Here is ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski’s original tweet that turned out to prematurely state Saddiq Bey would become a Warrior. Over the next hour, multiple different moves were made regarding this complicated trade.
The full trade goes like this:
- The Golden State Warriors received Kevin Knox and five second round picks in the trade. They, then, flipped those picks to the Trail Blazers for Gary Payton II.
- Portland just received the five picks, and no players.
- The Pistons received James Wiseman (for Knox and Bey).
- Atlanta received Bey, presumably in exchange for at least some of the second round picks.
What was originally a seemingly simple trade ended up affecting four teams. Payton II now returns to Golden State, after winning the title with the Warriors in the 2022 season. He played a total of 15 games with the Blazers.
