The Dallas Mavericks have completed a trade to bring in P.J. Washington and two second-round picks from the Charlotte Hornets for Grant Williams, Seth Curry and a 2027 protected first-round pick. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news.
Washington, 25, is averaging 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for the Hornets this season. The forward has spent all five of his NBA seasons with the Hornets.
Dallas has added frontcourt pieces before the deadline to bolster their playoff chances. They sit eighth in the Western Conference and have added Washington and Daniel Gafford, who was a part of another trade.
Williams is averaging 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game this season. Curry is a veteran averaging 4.3 points per game.
The Hornets get a protected first-round pick to help their rebuilding process.
