MLS Wednesday Recap
Orlando City beat Sporting KC 1-0. In the 21st minute, Tesho Akindele scored early for Orlando.
Minnesota United FC won 1-0 against the Colorado Rapids. Darwin Quintero scored in the 39th minute for Minnesota.
Real Salt Lake beat Seattle 3-0. In the 25th minute, Sam Johnson scored. Then in the second half, Albert Rusnak and Corey Baird scored.
LA Galaxy won 2-0 against FC Dallas. In the second half, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice, one of them being from a penalty kick.
Then to finish out Wednesday, Portland Timbers beat Chicago 3-2. Early in the game Jorge Moreira and Brian Fernandez scored for Portland. In the 74th minute, Nemanja Nikolic scored for Chicago. Then, Brian Fernandez scored for Portland again. And to finish out the game in extra time, C.J. Sapong scored for Chicago.
MLS Saturday Recap
RBNY faced off with New England on Saturday. Marc Rzatkowksi scored for RBNY while Gustavo Bou scored for New England. The game ended 1-1.
NYCFC beat Cincinnati FC on Saturday. Allan Cruz scored Cincinnati’s only goal in the 30th minute of the game. Then, both Valentine Castellanos and Heber scored twice for NYCFC. The game ended 4-1.
Columbus tied 2-2 with Toronto FC. Jonathan Osorio and Jozy Altidore scored for Toronto, while Pedro Santos and David Accam scored for Columbus.
Montreal tied FC Dallas 3-3. Lassi Lappalainen scored twice or Montreal and Orji Okwonkwo scored once to make the game 3-0. Then Dallas came back with Zdeneck Ondrasek, Reto Ziegler and Ryan Hollingshead to tie the game.
Chicago beat Philadelphia 2-0 on Saturday. Nemanja Nikolic scored both goals for Chicago in the first half of the game.
Minnesota United FC tied Orlando 1-1. Orlando’s Nani scored off a PK in the 70th minute of the game. Then, Minnesota’s Abu Danladi scored in the second minute of extra time to tie the game.
Sporting KC beat San Jose Quakes 2-1. San Jose got their early goal with Chris Wondolowski. Then, Benny Feilhaber scored to tie the game back up. Graham Smith then scored in the 76th minute to win the game.
Houston Dynamo tied with the Colorado Rapids 2-2. Diego Rubio scored both goals for Colorado in the first half, while Mauro Manotas scored both goals for Houston in the second half.
LA Galaxy tied the Seattle Sounders 2-2 as well. Raul Ruidiaz scored for the Sounders in the 42nd minute. Then, Zlatan Ibrahimović scored twice for LA Galaxy. The last goal for Sounders was an own goal made by LA Galaxy defender, Jorgen Skjelvik.
LAFC took a 2-0 win against Real Salt Lake. In the 64th minute, Carlos Vela scored for LAFC. Then, in the 82nd minute Adama Diomande scored.
Then to close out MLS Saturday, the Vancouver Whitecaps won 1-0 against D.C. United. In the 18th minute, Yordy Reyna scored for Vancouver and the rest of the game no one could get a goal.
MLS Sunday Recap
The only game on Sunday featured Atlanta United against the Portland Timbers. In the 14th minute, Leandro Gonzalez Pirez scored for Atlanta. Then, Josef Martinez scored in the 46th minute for Atlanta to finish the game 2-0.
Western Conference Standings
LAFC has secured their position for first with 58 points and is the first team to qualify for the MLS Playoffs. Minnesota United FC is in second with 42 points. LA Galaxy is in a close third with 41 points. While Real Salt Lake is in fourth with 40 points.
Easter Conference Standings
Atlanta United FC is in first with 45 points. Philadelphia also has 45 points but stands in second for having one less win than Atlanta. NYCFC sits in third with 41 points, while D.C. United sits in fourth with 39 points.
