The Red Sox lose the series to the White Sox 2-1. The Red Sox won the first game, blew the second game and lost outright in the third.
Game 1: Red Sox win 3-1
In the first game of the series, the Red Sox did well. They had Brayan Bello on the mound, and he pitched a good game. Going almost seven innings, he only let up one run, and got five strike-outs.
After he left, the bullpen kept the White Sox from scoring, and ended with Kenley Jansen getting the save.
Rafael Devers provided most of the offense after hitting a two-run home run to break the tie in the fourth inning.
Game 2: White Sox win 5-4
The second game of the series was a close contest. Throughout the game it was back and forth, with the Red Sox putting people on base and getting hits to score, and the White Sox just hitting four solo homers. By the ninth, the game was tied.
At the top of the ninth with two outs, the Red Sox got the bases loaded, and it was up to Adam Duvall, the big bat from the beginning of the season, to put the Red Sox ahead.
However, Adam Duvall’s bat was very small this time, and he ended up striking out. Because of that, the White Sox rode the momentum to walk off the game.
Game 3: White Sox win 4-1
In the third and final game, the White Sox managed to almost duplicate and reverse the outcome of game 1, and instead of the Red Sox winning, they won.
The White Sox managed to get some offense going, with half of it coming off a two run homer from Luis Robert Jr.
Their pitching was good too, and it did not even come from a starter, as the White Sox decided to pitch a bullpen game.
The Red Sox managed to get a run, but were not able to spark the offense. Because of that, they lost the game and series.
While the Red Sox lost the series, they are now on their way back to Boston, getting ready to play Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantra and the Miami Marlins on June 27.
