The regular season is over and 22 teams have locked in their place at Worlds 2021 for League of Legends. This means that Worlds will be just around the corner. Normally there is a bit of an off time to allow teams to travel and prepare for the month-long grind to become the Worlds Champions. This year will be a lot like last year where the teams likely headed out early. Here is a look at Worlds 2021 Start date.

Because of COVID-19, players will be arriving to their hotels in Reykjavik, Iceland much earlier than in normal years. In fact, most teams have already been there for a week or more. This was the country for MSI and was chosen due to COVID-19 restrictions and issues. Originally, Worlds 2021 was going to be in China for the second straight year. Now Europe gets it two out of the last three years.
The group draws have already taken place and they were on September 22 at 8 am EST. This is where the groups will be picked amongst the teams that have already made it past Play-Ins. Then Play-Ins, which is when Worlds 2021 officially begins, will start on October 5.
The times are not yet known but since it is in Iceland fans can plan accordingly. For fans from the United States, these games will likely begin early in the morning. At MSI the games were played around 11, Noon or 1 in the morning/early afternoon for those on the East Coast. It is sufficient to say that fans should be excited about the change to Europe as they won’t have to ruin their sleep schedule to watch.
