For many in the LCS community 2023 brings with it more than a new season, it brings about a fresh start for their teams as they attempt to perform internationally. Most of the teams completely rehauled their teams from their 2022 rosters, yet again. They are either looking to start anew or build their roster to compete for an LCS title and Worlds contention. That said, fans are likely wondering, what is the 2023 LCS Spring Split Start Date?

The LCS has kept its format for 2022 but made some other changes. This year, the games will be starting at 12pm PST or 3pm EST and they will be on Thursdays and Fridays. For some fans, this has caused quite an issue as they will either be at work or in school during these times. While it is intended to bring in European audiences and more of the East Coast, many on the West Coast are particularly upset. It will be interesting to see what the numbers look like as the Split goes on.
The Summer Split ended with Cloud9 going 3-0 on Finals weekend taking down 100T. This was not a huge surprise as they had taken them down 3-1 in the previous week leading up to the Finals. Unfortunately for them, the ticket that was punched for Worlds did not matter much. Even while being hosted in NA, the LCS teams went a combined 3-15 in one of the regions worst showings to date.
Similar to last year, the LCS will have eight of their 10 teams making the playoffs in the Summer but only 6 in the Spring. The teams that are on the outside looking in will surely be missing out in a major way. That said the format still favors those who finish near the top. They get a second chance should they get knocked out once. Thus making for a fun spectacle.
The LCS 2023 Season Start will be January 26. This also means that the LCS Lock-In will likely not be coming back unless something changes very suddenly.
