It is about a week away and the LCS has revealed the 2021 Summer Split Schedule. The Summer Split will be starting on June 4 at 6 pm est/3pm pst with a rematch of the third-place LCS Spring Split playoffs matchup between TSM vs TL. TSM fans will likely be happy as this will be a chance for the team to prove itself at the very beginning of the season.

There is no doubt that this will be a hyped matchup to start the Summer Split. The issue that LCS fans as a whole will have is that C9 are not leading things off. In fact, they are playing Golden Guardians, a team that many consider to be the worst in the LCS.
TSM lost their previous series against TL 3-1, a score that they shared with their initial meeting in the playoffs. This comes after TSM were able to 2-0 TL during the regular season. These two teams are generally able to go blow for blow and should both be fighting for a Worlds 2021 spot come the end of the Split.
Luckily, this will only be the first of three guaranteed meetings this summer. The new LCS format sees the Summer 2021 Split having 27 games for each team. This is a new record high and one where they will face each of the LCS franchised teams three times.
Also with both teams sharing a similar record, these game will be important. The reason is that the Summer 2021 playoff seedings are based on the team’s record from both splits for the first time.
As one can see, while this will be a great game to start the LCS Summer off with, it will also be an important one moving forward.
