As the 2021 LCS Summer Split nears, it is time to look back at the Spring and see what information could be gained. This is an important practice as teams and fans need to find out where their advantages lie. Clearly, there is one piece of information that is rarely if ever discussed. It is one that is quite important and could signal how a team might do on gameday. This is the start of a series that will look into what the win and loss record of each team was based on who cast their game. Here is a look at the TSM Caster Record for the Spring 2021 LCS Split.
*Note: This includes the Lock In and Spring Playoffs.

Match
When gathering this information, it was important to start with each match and who did the casting. The table below shows each game and who the casting duo was for each particular game. For convenience, CaptainFlowers was shorted to CF as it fit better in the spreadsheet.
Match | Duo |
100T | CF & Kobe |
GG | Phreak & Azael |
CLG | Pastrytime & Kobe |
TL | Pastrytime & Azael |
C9 (1-2) | CF & Kobe |
FLY | Phreak & Kobe |
C9 | Phreak & Kobe |
CLG | CF & Azael |
GG | Pastrytime & Crumbz |
TL | Phreak & Kobe |
IMT | Phreak & Azael |
EG | CF & Azael |
100T | Phreak & Azael |
DIG | CF & Crumbz |
TL | Pastrytime & Azael |
CLG | Phreak & Kobe |
FLY | CF & Azael |
DIG | CF & Kobe |
100T | Phreak & Kobe |
C9 | Phreak & Azael |
EG | CF & Azael |
IMT | Phreak & Azael |
GG | Phreak & Kobe |
TL (1-3) | CF & Kobe |
EG (3-1) | CF & Kobe |
100T (3-1) | CF & Azael |
TL (1-3) | Phreak & Kobe |
This list, as one can see, did take into account each game that was cast in a series, not just the series win or loss itself. Not surprisingly, this would play a pretty important role in helping the scores of each caster. While it cannot be seen on here, each match and series was color-coded green for a win and red for a loss.
Casting Duo
Next up was checking the win and loss record as well as the winning percentage for TSM when each duo cast a game. Listed below are the results and some thoughts about these results.
Duo | Wins | Losses | Percentage |
CF & Kobe | 5 | 8 | 38% |
Phreak & Azael | 5 | 0 | 100% |
Pastry & Kobe | 1 | 0 | 100% |
Pastry & Azael | 1 | 1 | 50% |
Phreak & Kobe | 5 | 5 | 50% |
CF & Azael | 5 | 3 | 63% |
Pastry & Crumbz | 1 | 0 | 100% |
CF & Crumbz | 0 | 1 | 0% |
Some of these results were quite surprising. The first was that CaptainFlowers and Kobe were the most common casting duo for TSM games yet, they had the lowest winning percentage for the team at 38%. Yet when Phreak and Azael cast a TSM match, none of which were playoff games, TSM went 5-0.
For those who may be wondering, in terms of playoff series here are the results for each duo.
Duo | Wins | Losses | Percentage |
CF & Kobe | 1 | 2 | 33% |
CF& Azael | 1 | 0 | 100% |
Phreak & Kobe | 0 | 1 | 0% |
It is fairly obvious at this point that CaptainFlowers and Azael are who TSM should want casting their playoff games even with Flowers’ bad overall record.
Individual Casters
Lastly, it was on to the individual casters and their performances while casting TSM. As with the last two, listed below are the win, losses and winning percentages for each individual caster.
Caster | Wins | Losses | Percentage |
Captain Flowers | 10 | 12 | 45% |
Kobe | 11 | 13 | 46% |
Phreak | 10 | 5 | 67% |
Azael | 11 | 4 | 73% |
Pastrytime | 3 | 1 | 75% |
Crumbz | 1 | 1 | 50% |
Considering CaptainFlowers and Kobe were the most common duo for TSM, it would make sense that they would cast their games the most overall as well. Even with other casters, neither CaptainFlowers nor Kobe could get their winning percentage up to .500. Yet Phreak, Azael and Pastrytime were all well about that mark. Most impressively even though the casting duo of Phreak and Azael were only a part of five games with five wins, they still found success with other partners as their 67% and 73% winning percentage were quite impressive.
Overall Thoughts
Obviously, this is something that is more done for fun and for those who may be superstitious. Yet, it could cause some TSM fans to think more about who is casting their game and if it could be a bad omen?
It will be interesting to see if some of these trends will carry over to the 2021 LCS Summer Split as it begins next week. Also, it will be worth watching as more of these go up as to how other teams did and which casters did the best overall. Make sure to look back as The Game Haus releases more of these leading up to the LCS 2021 Summer Split.
