Worlds Semifinalist Gen.G have decided to get rid of Rascal and sign Doran, the former KT Rolster Top Laner, to the team for the 2022 LCK Season. This move comes after a shakeup to the roster. Clid, Bdd, Life and Rascal all have left the team going into 2022. The announcement was made in the tweet below.
Welcome, Doran
Today, we are joined by a new top laner for the 2022 season: Hyeonjoon ‘Doran’ Choi. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome to the Gen.G LoL team! #WeAreGenG #GenG #Doran pic.twitter.com/DBYsp3iCyO

The Future of Gen.G:
Doran is one of the better Top Laners in the LCK. Unfortauntely for him, he was on KT Rolster who had no momentum all year long. He had a 241 GD10, a 166 XPD10 and a 9.7 CSD10. Keep in mind, the LCK is incredibly competitive in the Top Lane which makes these stats even more impressive.
Gen.G Doran is exciting, but it poses the question of how good the 2022 roster will be? The current roster is rumored to be Doran, Peanut, Chovy, Ruler and Lehends. If this is the case, it seems like Gen.G will continue to be a powerhouse team in the LCK. Doran and Chovy getting reunited after the Griffin days will be really exciting to see. Chovy also was probably the biggest free agent in the LCK this season. The rumors suggest that numerous LCK, LPL and LCS teams all tried to get him. Gen.G seems like a great landing spot, but it does come at the cost of Bdd.
The Bot Lane will be another strong point of this team. Lehends, much like Doran, was stuck in elo-hell on Afreeca Freecs. He had a different ADC each split, but is still an elite talent amongst supports. Ruler, is, well, Ruler. An amazing hard carry style ADC who single handily turn around fights. Putting these two together should make the Bot Lane of Gen.G even stronger than it was in 2021.
All in all, these changes should be exciting for Gen.G fans. While Gen.G did make Worlds Semifinals, the team did not achieve the level of domestic success they were hoping for. This may be the roster to do it for them.
