The LCS offseason is a crazy time of year. Fans are desperate to hear any and all news about their favorite team and what they may or may not be doing in between season. As is tradition, there have been countless rumors circulating around Cloud9 and their potential roster additions. Already there have been reports of Luka “Perkz” Perković leaving C9 to head back to the LEC and C9 looking at new mid laners to take his place. However nothing is set in stone, and some rumors are too good to be true.
In fact Jack Etienne, owner of Cloud9, has come out on Twitter to dispel some transaction rumors.
After last year I’ve learned to be careful about sharing roster information early but I’d like to clarify one false rumor. I’m certain the roster will not include any of the following people:@Bjergsen@G2Mikyx @Hanssama
They are all incredible players but won’t be joining C9
— Jack Etienne (@JackEtienne) November 3, 2021
The tweet comes after speculation around Cloud9’s 2022 roster began to gain momentum in the young offseason. The announcement comes off as a denial of any rumor that may involve Bjergsen, Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle and Steven “Hans Sama” Liv. With Etienne’s statement, many would believe the subsequent rumor of Bjergsen heading to Team Liquid would hold more weight.

However, some fans aren’t too sure that this even a truthful statement from Etienne. Many users on the Cloud9 subreddit believe Etienne is actually tweeting this information sarcastically, suggesting that this all but confirms the rumors to be true. It is truly a crazy time of the year when audiences aren’t sure if the owner of an organization is joking or not. Cloud9 fans will have to wait a bit longer for the dust to settle, and to truly see the sincerity of Etienne’s comment.
