The next new champion coming to League of Legends is technically not a new champion. Instead, it is a major rework we have been waiting on for some time. Skarner was voted on as the rework champion years ago but the dev team have struggled to figure out what he would become. Now, the wait for you and Captain Flowers is finally over. Here is a look at all of the Skarner Rework Abilities for the League of Legends scorpion.

A Look at All Skarner Rework Abilities
Below is a look at all of the Skarner Rework Abilities. These were shown during the champion update back in October of 2023 and may have slight changes. If that is the case this will be updated.
Q- Picks up and throws a rock at the targetted area dealing AOE damage. It becomes his auto-attack and slows.
W- Skarner slams the ground dealing damage in a wave around him after a short burst.
E- Skarner goes through walls, latches onto enemies and stuns them against another wall.
R- Impale will still be the ability. That said it will be changing. It will no longer be point and click, it is likely a skillshot.
Skarner Rework PBE Release Date
The Skarner Rework PBE Release Date is going to be March 20, 2024 with LoL Patch 14.6.
This means that the official release date for Skarner will be with Patch 14.7 on April 3, 2024.
Fans will be very excited to finally get the reworked champion in their hands. He has seemingly been in development hell for over a year now. Many expected him to release back in early 2023. Instead they had to push him back.
The main reasoning for this was that they were basically starting over with Skarner. They kept the name, some of the ideas behind his abilities and that was about it. He looks much better now, likely will have completely new voice lines and even his backstory will be new. He will be coming from Ixtal now instead of Shurima but will still be connected to the desert.
New Skarner Splash Art
The new Skarnet Rework Splash Art is certainly something.
In the Tweet showing it off, it looks as if he is a mythical creature. This is more for those who care about his lore and story. He looks almost like a king or at least a menace standing over the Ixtal capital. That is what it looks like most likely. Since it is based on Mesoamerica, these are like the pyramids in current-day Central America.
It will be interesting to see if he is still the last of his kind or connected to Seraphine in any way. It seems like they hated that story so they are probably changing it. At least considering he has nothing to do with crystals that feels like a safe assumption.
