There has been a lot of discussion surrounding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. At this moment the Call of Duty franchise has been the crux of the conversation. The question that has also been asked is whether or not will Blizzard games be on Xbox Game Pass.
Are Blizzard Games on Game Pass?
At this current time, there has been no confirmation on whether or not Blizzard games will be making their way to the subscription service. However, this is primarily due to the fact that Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have extended the merger agreement deadline to October 18th, 2023. We may see Blizzard games make an appearance on the service after this date.
Does Overwatch Have a Game Pass Perk?
The only mention of Blizzard-related games on Game Pass at the moment is Overwatch 2, but only as a perk. Subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will get access to the Overwatch New Heroes Starter Pack beginning on August 10. This gives players access to the first six new Heroes of Overwatch 2 for free.
Are the Old Call of Duty Servers Fixed?
Following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Microsoft and Activision went ahead and fixed matchmaking on the older Call of Duty titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops II and the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Following a tweet from the Twitter account CharlieIntel, players started to see an improvement in matchmaking times along with an increase in players online.
Is Call of Duty On Xbox Game Pass?
As of today, there is no official confirmation of Call of Duty coming to Xbox Game Pass. With older Call of Duty servers being fixed, there is however speculation that players will see its arrival come around October 2023 when the merger fully goes through.
