If you haven’t been living under a rock since 2001, then you have probably heard something about the Animal Crossing franchise. Animal Crossing has been around for a long time, and the series continues to please fans after all these years. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the newest installment of the series, and it is the perfect place for a new player to get in on all the fun. New Horizons will be out on March 20, and you should not miss your chance to pick it up.
A Series With History
There are many reasons why you shouldn’t pass this game up, but if you haven’t played any of the older ones yet, here’s what you’re missing out on. So far, the series has included Animal Crossing on the Nintendo GameCube, Animal Crossing: Wild World on the Nintendo DS, Animal Crossing: City Folk on the Nintendo Wii, Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the Nintendo 3DS and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp on mobile devices.
There is also Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival, which are two that deviate from the traditional formula. Animal Crossing puts you in a world where you live amongst animal villagers that you can interact with as you live your life in your own town. Over the year, the games have become more in depth and more customizable. This allows players to create the town of their dreams, and run it to their heart’s content. So why should you buy the new game?
A Relaxing Experience
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is going to be the beefiest game to date. From what Nintendo has shown so far, every aspect of the previous games has been ramped up. This is going to create an even richer gameplay experience for fans and new players alike. One of the biggest selling points of this game, which any longtime fan would tell you, is how relaxing it is for players. This is a stress-free game, that will let you escape reality for a while. From digging up fossils for your museum’s collection, to hanging out with your favorite neighbor, you will be sure to find a peaceful, relaxing time in New Horizons.
A New Crafting Experience
One of the biggest new features coming along with the new title is the ability to craft you own items to better serve your town. Your tools will be built by your own hands in the beginning, as opposed to the original method of purchasing them. Your town will move from tents and fires, to a sprawling island town as you put in the time to craft it as you like. Alongside that, as you progress further, you will be able to dig around and terraform your island. This will allow players to create rivers, ledges and paths where they want to and create the layout of their dreams.
Faraway Islands
In previous games, you were able to visit an island far away from yours that had many exotic items for you to find. Now, in New Horizons, you will be able to visit many different, random islands instead of just the one. On these islands you will find many new things just like in the other games, but you might also come across new villagers to talk to and bring back to your island. This change, like others, is very slight, but it is all of this fine tuning that has people so excited about this game.
There is so much more that could be said about the Animal Crossing franchise and the new installment of New Horizons, but that could take days to cover. If you have never played Animal Crossing before, now is the time to get into it. New Horizons is a game that no one should pass up, even if you are new to the franchise. Don’t miss out on this amazing world, pick up this game on March 20, 2020. Happy crossing!
