The announcement that so many have been waiting for has finally happened. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl will be getting their remakes but maybe not in the exact way fans were expecting. During Pokemon Presents, the day before Pokemon’s 25 Year Anniversary, a video showing off the new Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes were confirmed as Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Here are some pictures from what was shown.

One can see that the new Pokemon games will look a bit different and that in conjunction with the Pokemon Company, the ILCA company would be developing the game. The interesting part about this is the art direction they decided to take. As in the original games, the characters will be smaller which brings a nostalgic feel. But they have updated the graphics to look more like Sword and Shields graphics for the Nintendo Switch. This will be a very interesting marriage and one that will likely start some conversations amongst fans.
Overall though the game will stay the same and will not have the Pokemon Go mechanics that many thought they might reveal. This will likely help some fans breathe a sigh of relief.
These are some of the most beloved game in the Pokemon franchise as Diamond and Pearl came out during a new wave of young Pokemon fans. Surely this will bring many back to the gaming franchise and hopefully help newer fans see the brilliance of these games.
Now fans will have to wait a few more months for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl to come out. The wait has certainly been worth it.
