One of the modern gems in gaming has been Octopath Traveler. The story along with the different battle mechanics and the way players get to play the game have made the series a very well-received one. Because of this, many people expected there to be a second game and were rewarded for that faith. Now that the game has arrived, players will be wondering where to start their adventure. Well here is the Octopath Traveler 2 Best Starting Character List.

1. Ochette

There are a few reasons that Ochette is the best but the main one is that she starts right in the middle of the map. Thus, she is quickly able to get to just about everyone else. Ochette is also very strong in the sense that she can deal plenty of damage. Lastly, her Capture ability is quite useful, especially early in the game making her a very easy character for people to pick up.

2. Hikari

He is the warrior of the group. That is generally one of the better characters to start with in any game, especially for a beginner. He has a lot of health, as he is the tank, and can still dish out some good damage. Add in that he has a taunt and can gain XP through challenges and he is quite the easy argument for an early stating character.

3. Throne

For those who like rogues or thieves, Throne is the one for them. She is strong in battle and even better out of battle. The fact that she can steal from basically anyone helps to get the items and gold flowing early. Add in that she has some very useful debuffs and Throne is another great character to start with.

4. Temenos

As useful a cleric as there is, Temenos can dish out damage and can heal at a very high rate. This makes him an interesting starting choice. Add in that he is near to Throne and it makes picking the combination of the two in either order pretty easy. Temenos heals and deals AOE while Throne finishes off enemies.

5. Partitio

Some may not think Partito is a great starting character, and while he is certainly not the best, he is an interesting choice. Because he is a merchant, he can bring along NPCs to fight. Also, he can help the player get plenty of money to start the game. While not the most offensive and more of a support character, Partitio is certainly a fun and slightly challenging starting character.

6. Osvald

Magic fans rejoice, Osvald hits like a truck. So if that is the case, why is he so low? Well, he uses up way too much mana, especially early on. His ability to see weaknesses is nice but grabbing him first will certainly make things a bit more challenging. But if players like that challenge and want a very interesting first story, Osvald is a solid choice.

7. Castti

Castti is not a great first character. She requires a lot of items and ingredients to be super useful and while she does start by Hikari, players should choose him first and then get to Castti. She will bring plenty of easy heals but early on, that is about it.

8. Agnea

Agnea is the major support of the group. For that reason, she is a difficult starting character. The goal for her is to buff her allies and that can be tough when she is the only one in the party. Like Castti she is much better later on. Lastly, Partitio is her closest companion which also makes things a bit tough when trying to pair them up early in the game.
