Monster variety is a big aspect of what makes Monster Hunter games feel fresh. The various different move sets and armor that come alongside them provides a fantastic gameplay cycle. But as a newly released game, there aren’t that many big monsters in Monster Hunter Now. Here is the full list, which is sure to grow larger as updates come around.
- Great Jagras
- Kulu-Ya-Ku
- Pukei-Pukei
- Barroth
- Great Girros
- Tobi-Kadachi
- Jyuratodus
- Paolumu
- Anjanath
- Rathain
- Legiana
- Rathalos
- Diablos
There seem to be thirteen Large Monsters, excluding variants. As of the official release, the only variant monster has been Black Diablos. This monster invaded during the Diablos Invasion event on September 24, and was an event exclusive.
The monsters in Monster Hunter Now correlate with the chapters of the story, with each new entry chapter introducing a brand new monster. For those who haven’t been paying much attention to the story, don’t worry. The story is mostly just preface to introduce a new big bad, thereby lacking substance.
Though there appear to only be thirteen Large Monsters in Monster Hunter Now, the list is still growing. Zinogre is speculated to be the next to release — teased in the Monster Hunter Now presentation.
In their presentation, Capcom stated “Monster Hunter Now has large updates planned every season, with plans to add more monsters and weapon types in the future. Please look forward to it!”
Considering there’s literally over a hundred monsters in the Monster Hunter franchise, there’s a ton of content that can be potentially added to Monster Hunter Now. Granted, many of them are variants of preexisting monsters, there are still plenty of monsters that have yet to be added to Monster Hunter Now. In fact, there are plenty of weapons to be added as well — with various weapon mains crying in the corner due to their favorite hunting tools not yet being available.
