Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s latest and arguably biggest title, won Game of the Year in 2022, after some time since its release, FromSoftware announced that DLC is in the making, revolving around Miquella, one of the shard bearers, and brother to Malenia, who players remember as one of the hardest, if not the hardest, Elden Ring and even FromSoftware boss to date.
After the release of the Colosseum or PVP (Player vs. Player) in December 2022 and the initial announcement, it seemed like an eternity of waiting, but now the day has finally come as FromSoftware dropped a teaser trailer on Feb. 21, and even a confirmed release date for the DLC.
The release date is set for June 21, 2024, on PC, PlayStation 5 and 4, and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, the wait will have to endure a little longer but the trailer makes the wait worth it. If you have not seen it yet, check it out on Bandai Namco’s official YouTube channel.
The three-minute trailer contained some exciting footage of players being able to wield new spells, new weapons, and attack animations. All while showcasing the new monsters, bosses, and environments players will face in classic FromSoftware fashion.
A new area, called the “Land of Shadow” will see players explore this daunting, yet stunning area. While discovering new lore about Miquella, and perhaps Malenia and the other shard bearers. The trailer featured new characters to meet and to be guided in the area that is obscured by the Erdtree.
Not only do these moves, animations, spells, attacks, and so on get used throughout the story of the DLC but players may be able to access these moves in the PVP mode of the game.
Players can order the DLC today and even receive a pre-order bonus, depending on the edition ordered. Below is the list of the pre-order bonuses.
Shadow of the Erdtree (digital): $39.99
- Shadow of the Erdtree
- Bonus Gesture (Pre-order bonus)

Whichever bundle players get, this DLC may be some of the biggest since perhaps the release of the Painted World of Ariandel DLC in Dark Souls 3, and if it is anything like that, players will surely love the DLC just as much, if not more.
