Many Diablo 4 players are excited about the launch of Season 1 on July 20th, 2023, as it brings post-game content and a variety of cosmetic items to the dungeon crawler title. However, there has been some discussion about whether or not players are required to create a new character for Diablo 4 Season 1 in order to play the update.
This might be upsetting news to some, but in order to access Diablo 4 Season 1, players will need to make a new seasonal character as their character in the Eternal realm cannot progress in seasonal content. According to Diablo’s General Manager at Blizzard, Rod Fergusson on Twitter, playing the campaign with your seasonal character will also progress the battle pass and Season 1 journey.
Before players get ready to jump into what Diablo 4 Season 1 has to offer, they need to finish the campaign first. As long as you finish it the first time through, the new character that they create is able to start accessing the Season 1 content. Players are given 3 months to complete not only the Season 1 story but the battle pass as well, so try and get through the campaign as quickly as possible.
Similar to other titles that also feature a battle pass system, the Diablo 4 Season 1 battle pass has three different methods for players to progress throughout the pass.
The amount of Diablo Season 1 battle pass rewards that you’ll receive as you progress through the pass all depends on whether you purchase the Premium Track. While every single item included in the battle pass hasn’t been fully revealed, the following is known so far.
Stay tuned for more gaming content, including Diablo 4 and newly released titles.
