The NFL season is already full of surprises, which makes it hard to pick winners. Cecil Walker and Joe DiTullio, of The Third and the Don Football Show, will do their best to try to predict the winners for every NFL game this season. Here are the NFL week 11 picks.
Thursday Night: Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks
Joe- The Packers finally gave Aaron Jones the ball and it worked. Bitter fantasy owners should be delighted and fans of Green Bay should be too. If they can have a multi-faceted offense it will help cover up for their defensive struggles. They should be able to beat the Seahawks, who are coming off an emotional loss against the Rams.- Packers
Cecil- Going against Seattle at home is tough, but if there is one person who rises to the occasion it’s Aaron Rodgers. If the Packers can get Aaron Jones going again, I have no doubt they win.-Packers
Sunday: Dallas Cowboys at Atlanta Falcons
Joe- The Cowboys have their issues, but they beat Philly on the road. They should be able to grind out a win against the Falcons, who likely are still suffering emotionally after losing to the Browns.- Cowboys
Cecil- The Falcons just got upset by the Browns and their defense is going to suddenly be fixed overnight. The Cowboys are not a good team, but at least they have some role players on defense. Just feed Zeke the ball and they will win.-Cowboys
Carolina Panthers at Detroit Lions
Joe- Detroit has lost three straight and Matt Patricia has to be feeling the pressure. Carolina is coming off a bad loss to the Steelers, but it was on a Thursday on the road. The Panthers’ defense will be the difference in this game.- Panthers
Cecil- The Panthers suffered an ugly loss, but they’ve had a long week to recover and prepare for a middling Lions team..The Lions lack an identity on offense and still have nothing on defense aside from Darius Slay.-Panthers.
Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts
Joe- Andrew Luck is back and has made Eric Ebron into one of the best tight ends this season. The offensive line is protecting him decently, which means he can carry them, much like he did before his injuries. Tennessee keeps all games close, but Luck will beat out Mariota on Sunday.- Colts
Cecil- Like always with the Titans, it comes down to which Mariota is going to show up Sunday. If he can play near the level he did against the Patriots and get at least something out of Derrick Henry. they will win. -Titans
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New York Giants
Joe- Both of these teams are a mess. The Giants did, however, pick up a win over the 49ers on Monday Night Football. Eli Manning is seemingly playing better and the Giants still have something to play for, as no one wants to win the NFC East.- Giants
Cecil- Fitzmagic should be able to get enough points to beat Eli “Noodle Arm” Manning. Just contain Saquon Barkley.-Buccaneers
Houston Texans at Washington Redskins
Joe- Houston is the hottest team in football, while Washington is good, but inconsistent. J.J. Watt will help lead the Texans defense to shut down Alex Smith and Adrian Peterson, which is why they will win the game.- Texans
Cecil- The Redskins just lost their best two offensive linemen. That will severely hurt Adrian Peterson’s productivity and cause the defense to be on the field longer. They will get worn down quick from chasing Deshaun Watson.around. -Texans
Pittsburgh Steelers at Jacksonville Jaguars
Joe- In the regular season last year, Ben Roethlisberger threw five interceptions against the Jaguars. He is a significantly worse quarterback on the road than he is at home. Jacksonville isn’t playing well, but the Steelers are bound to drop a game or so soon.- Jaguars
Cecil- The Steelers are absolutely rolling right now. The Jaguars are rolling right off a cliff of their own dysfunction. I know they blew the Steelers out last year, but this team is in a much worse place.-Steelers.
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens
Joe- Baltimore is likely starting Lamar Jackson for the first time. They should still be expected to win, as the Bengals’ defense is horrendous. Cincinnati fired defensive coordinator Teryl Austin after allowing 51 points to the Saints. Jackson can do enough damage to help the Ravens win the game.-Ravens
Cecil- Both of these teams have been on the decline since hot starts to the season. Lamar Jackson is making his first start and it could go either way considering the Bengals are historically bad on defense. This is usually a split series and that should continue this year.-Ravens
Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals
Joe- Both of these teams are in the bottom tier of the league. Oakland is trading away their best players, while Arizona is experiencing growing pains. Arizona’s defense will be the difference make in this one, as they only allowed the Chiefs to score 26 last week.- Cardinals
Cecil-The Raiders continue to play awful and the Cardinals aren’t much better. The Cardinals have a decent pass defense and David Johnson. That’s all they’ll need to win this one.=Cardinals
Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers
Joe- Denver’s offense can’t get anything going and the Chargers are flying uner the radar as one of the best teams in the league. Philip Rivers will not let the Chargers lose this game even though it is probably a disadvantage that they are at home.- Chargers
Cecil- The Chargers are playing great football right now even though they are being overshadowed by the Chiefs in the AFC West. The Broncos don’t really have anything going for them this season and Philip Rivers should win handidly.- Chargers
Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints
Joe- The defending Super Bowl Champions are banged up. They have a lot of missing corners, are on the road and are playing a future Hall of Famer. Drew Brees will win this one for the Saints.- Saints
Cecil- I’ve said it before, Drew Brees almost never loses at home. The Eagles are going to need Carson Wentz to go off if they want to keep up in this one.-Saints
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
Joe- This is a coin-flip game between two solid NFC North teams. With the way Mitch Trubisky and the Bears’ defense has been playing this season, it would be hard to pick against them.- Bears
Cecil- The Bears are great on defense and the offense is coming along under Matt Nagy. The Vikings are going to have a tough time in the first meaningful game at Soldier Field in awhile.-Bears
Monday night: Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles RamsÂ
Joe- Finally another Monday Night Football game that will be enjoyable. Both teams have one loss, but the Rams have a far superior overall team. Their defense is filled with stars, while the Chiefs defense has struggled when they play good competition.- Rams
Cecil- Another classic shootout. I’m giving the Chiefs the edge because I think their RPO offense is just too hard to beat, even with Aaron Donald on the other side of the ball.-Chiefs
