Thomas is a two-time All-Star who has spent time with the Kings, Suns, Celtics, Cavaliers, Lakers and Nuggets. He had his best season in 2016-2017 with the Boston Celtics when he scored 28.9 points per game and helped the Celtics get to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Last season with the Nuggets, Thomas scored 8.9 points per game, but failed to break into the rotation at times. He has yet to reach his former level of play after having hip surgery following the 2017 playoffs.
Thomas will help the Wizards cope with the loss of John Wall, who likely won’t be healthy for a long time with a ruptured Achilles.
