The Wizards wanting to trade Porter coincides with the announcement that John Wall will be out for 12 months with a ruptured Achilles. Washington will shed his contract which is worth over $26 million in annual average salary. The contract runs through the 2019-2020 season, but has a player option for the 2020-2021 season.
Porter, 25, is averaging 12.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game on 45.7% from the floor. He will now join a young Bulls team that is 13th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 12-41.
Washington will acquire two forwards in Portis and Parker. Portis is averaging 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, while Parker is putting up 14.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Parker is the former second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.
