The 2024-25 NFL season has begun which means fantasy football is back! The fantasy landscape has already changed since the preseason due to breakout players and major injuries across the league.Bye weeks are starting to take place. This means that quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Sam Darnold will be out this week. On top of that injuries have started to mount up at this point of the season. It is always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. Here are the fantasy football week 6 quarterback rankings.
[Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to Injured Reserve List]
[Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week]
Key:
Must Start- a player who should be in your lineup that week because of the combination of matchup and talent. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and could repeat the production most weeks.
Starter- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.
Low-End Starter- a player who should be started in most lineups but can bottom out and finish below average on a given week. A high ceiling play in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.
Streamer- a player who could be a perfect replacement for a starter for a week or two. Starting this player may not win you your lineup but they will make sure that your production out of that position will not lose you your matchup either. Also a viable option in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.
Deep League Streamer- a player who could fill a void at a position in a deeper league. Their ceiling may be close to average point production at the position but their floor is enough to get through the week. A reasonable player to have in your lineup in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.
Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Possible Changes that can occur before Sunday
QB15 Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts
Anthony Richardson missed last week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with oblique and abdominal injuries. There is a chance that he returns this week. If Richardson misses Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans Joe Flacco becomes the QB19 between Derek Carr and Aaron Rodgers.
QB19 Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints
Derek Carr suffered an oblique injury late in the game last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. This injury held him out for the rest of the game. If Carr misses Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jake Haener becomes the QB28 below Aidan O’Connell.
QB20 Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets
Aaron Rodgers sprained his left ankle last week against the Minnesota Vikings. He was able to return to the game last week and is expected to play. If Rodgers misses Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills Tyrod Taylor becomes the QB27 between Andy Dalton and Aidan O’Connell.
QB26 Will Levis, Tennessee Titans
Will Levis suffered a shoulder injury in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. It is unclear if this injury will hold Levis out of this week’s game. If Levis misses Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts Mason Rudolph becomes the QB28 below Aidan O’Connell.
Players that are currently not expected to play
Gardner Minshew, Las Vegas Raiders
Gardner Minshew was benched for Aidan O’Connell during last week’s game against the Denver Broncos. Las Vegas has not named a starting quarterback yet but O’Connell is expected to have his opportunity to start for the Raiders. O’Connell started a majority of last season when Antonio Pierce was anointed as the teams interim head coach.
Jacoby Brissett, New England Patriots
There has been speculation that the New England Patriots could insert third overall pick Drake Maye into the starting lineup. The offense has struggled under Brissett so far this season. Maye should create a ceiling for a Patriots offense that has lacked explosiveness for a very long time.
