Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 11. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
1. Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers
Watson was regarded highly in training camp, but that hadn’t translated to the field through the first several weeks of the season. He had a breakout game in week 10, which showed his speed and how much Aaron Rodgers now trusts him. Watson finished week 10 with four receptions on eight targets for 107 yards and three touchdowns.
The Packers have needed a wide receiver to step up all season long and Watson delivered. He may not be worth starting immediately, but if he is on the waiver-wire, he definitely needs to be picked up. Watson is currently rostered in just under six percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Every week that goes by, Pacheco is getting more and more involved in the offense. In week 10, he had 16 carries for 82 yards. Unfortunately, he did not get a catch. The important thing is that his percentage of the work is increasing.
While Jerick McKinnon is still getting a lot of the work on passing downs, Pacheco has really moved Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of the way on running downs. He should be picked up and if he continues to get this much work, he can be started. Pacheco is rostered in 23.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Rachaad White, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
White has received more work recently and when Leonard Fournette went down with an injury in Germany, he showed what he could do. He finished the game with 22 carries for 105 yards. White did not catch a pass or score a touchdown, but those will come.
The Buccaneers are heading into a bye so White won’t be useful in week 11, but he is worth stashing. Fournette’s hip injury could keep him out of the lineup. White also started the game in Germany showing that a change in total workload might be imminent even when Fournette is healthy. He is rostered in 24.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Edwards is the player who has most frequently appeared on this list. He was recovering from a torn ACL earlier this season, then returned before having a hamstring injury. Edwards had to leave the game against the Buccaneers and missed the Ravens week 9 game against the Saints.
Fortunately, Edwards is expected back after the bye in week 10 for the Ravens. With J.K. Dobbins still on IR, Edwards should get most of the work out of the Ravens’ backfield. In his one game where he was fully healthy he had 66 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He is available in nearly two-thirds of ESPN leagues.
5. Kadarius Toney, WR, New York Giants
Toney wasn’t really productive this season when he played for the Giants. He also had an injury, but now looks good to go for the Chiefs. In his second game with the Chiefs, Toney had four receptions for 57 yards and one touchdown. He also had two carries for 33 yards.
All of his production in week 10 was on limited playing time as he continues to learn the offense. Pick him up now and once he gets more reps in the offense, he can be started. The Chiefs use a rotation of receivers, so it is important to note his usage over the next few weeks. Toney is rostered in 47.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
