One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 14. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
1. New Orleans Saints
The Saints have had a below-average fantasy defense, ranking 25th at 4.1 points per game. They have one double-digit scoring game, which was in week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. New Orleans has one negative-scoring game, which was against the Chiefs.
In week 14, the Saints are matching up with the New York Giants. The Giants score the least amount of points in the league at 15.3 points per game. They will be starting either Drew Lock or Tommy Devito at quarterback. The Saints can take advantage and have a big game. They are rostered in 29.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Tennessee Titans
Tennessee ranks 23rd as a fantasy defense at 4.5 points per game. They have three double-digit games, which were against the Texans, Patriots and Dolphins. The Titans have put up two negative-scoring games, coming to the Bills and the Commanders.
This week, the Titans play the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars will likely be without starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who left the team’s game against the Texans in week 13. Mac Jones is likely to start. In the two games he started for the Jaguars, they scored six and seven points respectively. The Titans are rostered in 13.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have an average fantasy defense, ranking 19th at 4.8 points per game. They have registered one double-digit game, which was against the Patriots. Miami has two negative scoring games, which were against the Packers and Cardinals.
This week, the Dolphins play the New York Jets. The Jets only score 18.8 points per game, which ranks 26th in the league. They scored 21 points in week 13 against the Seahawks, but they were aided by several special teams plays. Miami should be able to limit their scoring. They are rostered in 43.2 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have had a great fantasy defense, ranking fifth at 8.4 points per game. Buffalo has registered six double-digit scoring games, which have been against the Dolphins, Jaguars, Titans, Seahawks, Colts and 49ers. They have one negative-scoring game, which was against the 49ers.
In week 14, the Bills play the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are averaging a decent 21.2 points per game and have plenty of offensive weapons. Picking up and playing the Bills this week more about how good the Bills have been all season long. They are rostered in 42.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are a good fantasy defense, ranking seventh at 8.3 points per game. They have five double-digit scoring games, with were to the Raiders, Panthers, Browns, Titans and Falcons. Los Angeles has two negative-scoring games, against the Bengals and Falcons.
This week the Chargers will square off with the Chiefs. Kansas City score 24.1 points per game, which ranks 11th in the league. Like the Bills, the Chargers are on this list based on how they have played this season, rather than their opponent.
