The Minnesota Rokkr head into Los Angeles, home of both OpTic Gaming and the Guerillas with their heads held up high. Yes, they found themselves in a difficult position when they lost three in a row to the Atlanta FaZe to complete reverse sweep. However, going into that match, they were heavy underdogs. The fact that they were one game away from knocking the FaZe at home was impressive.
To summarize: they beat the Paris Legion twice, held the Chicago Huntsmen to the lowest Hardpoint score of the season and had the FaZe down 2-0 in the semifinals at their own arena.
This was against the top three teams in the current standings. Fourth is where the Rokkr stand and it’s well deserved.
They will likely pass up the Legion this weekend barring they don’t collapse horribly. Speaking of L.A., they will begin their journey battling it out with the Seattle Surge.
Preview
Seattle Surge: 1-4
The Surge have had a rough start to their season, only winning one match and that was against the Guerillas who are co-hosting this weekend. However, they have come very close in their two matchups on Launch Weekend, losing 3-2 in both.
In short, they are no pushovers and the Rokkr should not take them lightly. Despite their record, they are one of the best Domination teams in the CDL. They have only lost one Domination game all season, and that was by just three points to the Dallas Empire in London. They also have done decently at Hardpoint as well, but their play in Domination is what stands out the most.
The key for the Rokkr will be if they can hang with them in Dom. They have an excellent chance to do it too, as their record in the game mode is 4-2.
Hardpoint is still their strongest mode by far, but don’t sleep on them when it comes to Domination. The important thing is that they start strong in Hardpoint, so when it’s time for the battle in Dom, then they’ll have an edge.
Player to watch
Alexxx came out guns blazing in Atlanta against each team they faced, including the deadly FaZe. There were a few occasions where he got on a hot streak. To put it simply, he’s a heat check player and his 10th ranking in K/D is a testament to his abilities.

GodRX is a big fan of Chick-Fil-A and their chicken sandwiches. Clearly, this is the fuel that drives him (maybe).
