The Minnesota Rokkr head into yet another CDL weekend home series. This time, they come in with expectations that are much more unpredictable than before. In an odd outing last time, they swept the Dallas home series champion Florida Mutineers to start. Then, they’d lose 3-1 to the rival Toronto Ultra followed by a sweep by the New York Subliners.
It was truly a weird way to go down after having such consistency all season. So, now, heading into what seems like the unknown, only the Rokkr can decide their fate. They still are in a pretty good position in the standings, but a poor showing in the Seattle home series could bring that down a bit.
The good thing for them is that they have two things in their favor. One is that they still have one of the deadliest K/D trios in CDL with GodRx, Assault and Alexx. The other thing is their steady improvement in Search & Destroy. Early on, this was an issue for the team but they seemed to have figured it out, putting themselves in better positions to win. They are 2-1 in their last three SnDs.
Optic Gaming Los Angeles: 5-9-0
The record can be deceiving, but Optic Gaming is not a team to mess around with. After starting out in dead last place, they have shot all the way up to seventh in the CDL standings (as of this writing). Plus, they’re fresh off of a finals appearance so they’ll likely be coming in breathing fire after losing to the Atlanta FaZe. That said, expect the Rokkr to seek some revenge after getting swept by Optic in the L.A. homestand.
Fun Fact of the day:
Rokkr/Rebel Esports player Exceed is an avid golfer when he’s not playing Call of Duty. No doubt he has to be pleased that golf courses are starting to open back up.
Player to Watch:
SiLLY, whom many consider as the Rokkr’s captain is definitely a player to watch here. He ranks as one of the 10 best players in the league in captures, making him an elite Domination player. On top of this, he has also proven he can be very clutch as well. Expect the 10 year COD veteran to come out firing.
