The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2021 Cheez-It Bowl.
Clemson Tigers Draft Prospects
Andrew Booth Jr., CB
Booth has been one of the best corners in the country over the last two seasons. He has 66 total tackles, three interceptions and nine passes defended in his career. This season, Booth has registered 35 total tackles, one interception and five passes defended.
He has solid size at 6-foot and 195 pounds, which will help him against NFL-level athletes. Booth has demonstrated great ball skills and unique athleticism for the position. He is likely going to be one of the first cornerbacks picked in the NFL Draft. Booth is projected to be a first-round pick.
Projected Draft Range: First Round Pick
Tyler Davis, DL
Davis has been injured over the last two seasons and hasn’t played a full season since he was a freshman. He has still posted 76 total tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in his career. This season, he has 17 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
At 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds, Davis has solid size for an NFL interior defensive lineman. He will have to prove he is healthy when checked out by NFL doctors. If he does, Davis has demonstrated the ability to be productive when healthy. He is a projected mid-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
*Wide receiver Justyn Ross will not play in this game. He is a projected second to fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Other Draft Prospects:Â CB Mario Goodrich (6th-UFA), CB Sheridan Jones (UFA), WR Joseph Ngata (UFA), DL Xavier Thomas (UFA), TE Davis Allen (UFA), LB Jake Venables (UFA), LB James Skalski (UFA), OG/C Will Putnam (UFA), DL Darnell Jefferies (UFA), EDGE KJ Henry (UFA), TE Braden Galloway (UFA), S Nolan Turner (UFA)
Iowa State Cyclones Draft Prospects
Breece Hall, RB
Hall has been one of the best players in Iowa State football history despite playing just three seasons. In his career, he has 3,941 rushing yards, 734 receiving yards and 56 total touchdowns. During the 2021 season, Hall has 1,472 rushing yards, 302 receiving yards and 23 total touchdowns.
He has a good build for an NFL running back at 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds. Hall has good vision and has proven to be a solid receiver out of the backfield. He has a little bit of wear and tear from so many college carries, but Hall has been productive. He is a projected day two pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Charlie Kolar, TE
Kolar has had a great four-year career at Iowa State where he became one of the best tight ends in the country. He has 164 receptions in his career for 2,148 yards and 22 touchdowns. This season, Kolar has hauled in 58 passes for 723 yards and five touchdowns.
At 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds, Kolar has prototypical size for an NFL tight end. He isn’t the flashiest athlete, but he can create a little separation and is a good security blanket. Kolar is expected to be taken in the middle rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Other Draft Prospects:Â LB Mike Rose (4th-6th), WR Xavier Hutchinson (5th-7th), S Greg Eisworth (6th-UFA), EDGE Eyioma Uwazurike (6th-UFA), EDGE Will McDonald IV (UFA), S Isheem Young (UFA), OG/C Collin Newell (UFA), QB Brock Purdy (UFA), TE Chase Allen (UFA), K Andrew Mevis (UFA)
