The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2020 Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Draft Prospects
One of the most improved players in the country is Jaquarii Roberson. He has 67 receptions for 949 yards and six touchdowns in his career. In the 2020 season, Roberson has totaled 54 receptions for 795 yards and five touchdowns.
He has good height at 6-foot-1, but will need to add play strength to his 182-pound frame. It is a deep wide receiver class, so Roberson may elect to return to school for another season. If he does declare for the 2021 NFL Draft, he is a projected late round pick or undrafted free agent.
Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
Sulaiman Kamara, DL
Kamara has been getting playing time for Wake Forest over the last four years. He has nine tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks in his career. This season, Kamara has three tackles for loss, but no sacks. Wake Forest will need him to step up, because several of their other veteran players have opted out for this game.
At 6-foot-2 and 290 pounds, Kamara has the size of a 4-3 defensive tackle. His lack of production will come into question, but production isn’t the only thing that matters. Kamara is likely to go undrafted, but could get some camp invites with a chance to make a team.
Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
*Edge rusher Carlos Basham has opted out of this game. He is projected to be taken before the end of round two.
*Wide receiver Sage Surratt has opted out of the season. He is a projected day two pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Wisconsin Badgers Draft Prospects
Jake Ferguson, TE
The Badgers have had a reliable tight end target for the last three years in Jake Ferguson. He has 98 receptions for 1,147 yards and 10 touchdowns in his career at Wisconsin. In six games this season, Ferguson has 29 receptions for 284 yards and four touchdowns.
Ferguson will look like an NFL tight end, as he stands at 6-foot-5 and 246 pounds. He has consistent production to go with his prototypical size, which will make him a coveted draft prospect. As things stand right now, Ferguson is a projected mid-round pick.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Jack Sanborn, LB
Jack Sanborn is a junior this season who has been a high-level player for the last two seasons. Over his career, Sanborn has 128 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. In six games for the 2020 season, he has totaled 41 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack.
Sanborn has solid size at 6-foot-2 and 232 pounds. He has been a versatile player for the Badgers, which has helped make their defense really good over the last two seasons. Sanborn may elect to go back to school, but if he declares, he will be a mid-round pick.
Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick
Other Draft Prospects
*Cornerback Rachad Wildgoose has opted out for the bowl game. He is a projected mid-round pick.
OT Cole Van Lanen (4th-6th), DL Isaiah Loudermilk (5th-7th), OG Logan Bruss (6th-UFA), WR Danny Davis (UFA)
