31. Caleb Love North Carolina
Love showed signs of promise in his freshman season and now will be looking to elevate his game towards his sophomore season. Furthermore, Love has a really good size that allows him to be effective going downhill and finishing is something he can become very good at. Also, his ability to use ball screens is pretty good and could elevate his game even with getting easy shots off-ball screens. Therefore, the shot selection of Love needs to improve to be able to shoot a higher percentage from the field as he was only at 31.6%.
Additionally, his perimeter jumper needs to take a jump forward to open up everything else in his offensive game. Next, he could improve his passer to more than a one-read passer and seeing the whole floor with ease. Continued, Love can move in transition with the ability to get to the basket will be a staple moving forward with North Carolina. As for defensively, Love’s size and activity will lead to him growing into an even better defender. The consistency of effort and ability to contain the basketball will be key. Caleb Love should take a big jump in his sophomore season being one of the best guards in the ACC.
32. Courtney Ramey Texas
Ramey is a part of a Texas perimeter that will be fully loaded returning Andrew Jones and the addition of Devin Askew. Now, Ramey is a very good shooter from the perimeter at 41.3% from three whether off the catch or dribble. Next, he moves well off the basketball being consistently shot-ready and spacing the floor on the perimeter. Additionally, he has the ability to attack the basket off the dribble utilizing ball screens or attacking isolated drives. Furthermore, the aggressive nature of Ramey is good with the pace he plays with taking shots in transition and being a playmaker at times.
The consistency Ramey brings offensively is valuable and will be crucial for Texas’ offensive success next season. As for defensively, he has the ability to be a lockdown defender on the perimeter with his activity and use of length. Also, his ability to stay engaged and be in a position of the ball is good as well. Courtney Ramey is a very good all-around player and will be one of the best guards in the Big 12.
33. Caleb Mills Florida State
Caleb Mills will be looking to be a difference-maker for the Florida State offense next season. Mills has really good and is able to be a scoring threat from all three levels. Next, he has a very good feel off the dribble and is most effective scoring in the mid-range. Also, in the mid-range, he really likes to go into fadeaways and runners his overall efficiency must improve. His ability to attack off the dribble is really good with the ability to finish with great control. Furthermore, his ability to go at defenders 1v1 is really good, but he needs to improve his movement without the basketball.
Further, his three-point shooting is effective, however, his ability to speed up his shot will allow him to take the next step. As for defensively, his commitment to be a better defender will be key at Florida State especially with the way they consistently defend. Additionally, he needs to improve his urgency on and off the basketball to a leap defensively. Florida State is getting a talented scorer who will bring needed offense and should be one of the best guards in ACC.
34. Andrew Jones Texas
Jones had a terrific Junior season starting to reach his potential as a scorer and the contribution on the boards. Next, Jones has the ability to be a dependable three-point catch and shoot player from three in the half-court along with transition at 33.8%. Further, Jones needs to improve his ability as a playmaker by having a better assist to turnover ratio. Continued, he is capable of attacking off the dribble and must look to do so more often to get on the basket and midrange.
Additionally, the improved finishing at the basket would help Jones further elevate his game. Jones is really dependable on the offense end with his shot-making ability. As for the defensive end, he is a very solid defender with his on-ball pressure defense. Also, matched with his effort and positioning makes he is an impact perimeter defender. Andrew Jones will be a massive part of Texas’ success next season on the perimeter.
35. Landers Nolley Memphis
Nolley is a talented player who had a good season for Memphis and has the ability to be the best player in the AAC. Now, Nolley showed massive improvement on his shooting from the perimeter at 38.7% from three and has a quick release. Next, he is very good off the dribble being able to get to the mid-range game very effectively. Additionally, he is a major threat in transition spotting up as a shooter on the perimeter. Continued, Nolley rebounds effectively on both ends using his size to his advantage and giving extra possessions for Memphis.
Furthermore, the area he could grow is becoming the guy for Memphis as he will return to a team with a lot of departures, Nolley will need to lead the way. As for the defensive end, he has the size and length to be disruptive on the perimeter. The biggest thing is needing that consistent edge and motor on the defensive end. Landers Nolley will be the guy for Memphis and has the potential to be one of the best players in the AAC conference.
