Teague has really good size and the ability to be a knockdown, dependable shooter for Baylor. Next, he does a good job of getting shots off the dribble and is really effective from the mid-range. Also, the ability to isolate Teague with his ability to create his own shot is very effective for Baylor. Furthermore, he moves well off the basketball with the ability to come off handoffs and screens to get really good looks. The scoring ability with the size of Teague is really good and makes him a difficult matchup for teams. On the defensive end, he does a solid job with his size and containing the basketball. Teague will be a major part of Baylor’s success next season, as they look to win the National Championship.
12. Ayo Dosunmu Illinois
Dosunmu will be the best point guard in college basketball if he returns. He has elite ball skills in the open floor. Furthermore, he is dynamic with the basketball with a great first step and is really effective in ball screen actions. He purely gets downhill attacking the basket and has guards stay in front of him. He’s an effective mid-range shooter off the dribble but can be hit or miss from three that is the biggest area of his game that must improve. Along with his overall strength and continuing to build his body. Also, with his size and athleticism, he does a very good job of rebounding the basketball and is a good distributor. His pure ability to get to the basket is as good as anyone and what makes him such a great player. Now defensively, he is really active on and off the ball and has really good length. He brings good energy and can turn defense into offense very quickly. Dosunmu will be one of the best players in all of the college basketball and has Illinois in the Top 15.
13. Drew Timme Gonzaga
Timme is the next great Gonzaga big man and will be one of the best interior players in the country next season. His ability to run the floor is very good as he’s dangerous in transition as the rim runner. Also, he’s extremely active in the half-court on the blocks and in the high post area. Furthermore, he has really good hands around the basket to be a dominant low post scorer. His duck-in ability and jump hook capabilities around the basket are great and make him an effective scorer. The area where Timme could improve is his shooting to be able to extend the defense even more. Timme is a very complete offensive post player with great mobility and feel that makes him an extremely tough matchup. As for the defensive end, he does a solid job of containing the basketball and can guard on the perimeter if need be. Also, he does an effective job on the defensive glass but could improve his strength to deal with stronger big men. Timme will be one of the best interior players in the country for Gonzaga and in a position to win a National Championship.
14. Chris Smith UCLA
Smith has very good size and is a really solid scorer. He’s got the ability to attack in isolated situations with his overall length and ability to attack the dribble. Further, he spots up well on the perimeter to make threes effectively he could take the next to shoot it really well. Also, he can play on and off the ball bringing the versatility and attacking mismatches. He can operate well in the high post with the ability to shoot or drive with his size. Continued, the play of Smith could really elevate next season with his confidence growing. Furthermore, he’s really smooth with the ball and gets to his spots very well. Now, defensively he has solid size and length but lacks real energy and movement to defend at a high level. Smith will be one of the toughest matchups for defenders next season.
15. Oscar Da Silva Stanford
Da Silva had a really good season and was extremely effective for Stanford this past season. Furthermore, he has good size and the ability to face up and attack effectively. Continued, he moves well and has good feel around the basket. Also, he can stretch out to the perimeter and make a three to be harder to guard. The ability to attack off the dribble is solid, as well as flashing to the high post and operating well with shots and drives. He’s a solid rebounder but could get stronger to be even more successful in post-ups and on the glass. Da Silva is a really good interior presence and will have a lot of help with Tyrell Terry and Ziaire Williams on the perimeter. Defensively, he gets in really good positioning and reads the offenses very well. Next, he moves well to get out on the perimeter and can protect the basket. Da Silva will be one of the best players in the PAC-12 and leading Stanford to the NCAA tournament.
16. Quentin Grimes Houston
Grimes brings good size and ability to be a lead guard with his shot-making and bringing the ball up the floor. Next, he is very solid off the dribble to get shots off and penetrating to get to the mid-range for shots. Also, he is very solid in ball screen action with good steadiness to create separation and get his shot off effectively. He’s a solid three-point shooter off the dribble and catch but could improve upon it. Furthermore, he’s a scoring guard who can make plays in transition spotting up or on the bounce. An area where he could improve is getting to the basket more in the half-court and in transition. He is also very good in isolated situations attacking mismatches very well. Defensively, Grimes is solid on the basketball who moves well laterally and has good size. He doesn’t take many chances defensively but is very solid and really good off the ball. Grimes will look to continue to develop into one of the best guards in the country and lead Houston as a top tier team in the country.
17. MJ Walker Florida State
Walker has the capability to get downhill to get to the basket being strong around the rim with both hands. Next, he is a really effective shooter from the perimeter and mid-range. He will be the lead guard for Florida State next season and should be a first-team ACC player. Walker has had a ton of potential at Florida State but now should deliver those expectations in his senior season. Defensively, he must improve staying tight on shooters giving them less space. His lateral quickness and on-ball defense are solid. His overall production is pretty good but has tools to be more of a go-to player next season. Walker will have Flordia State as a top 20 team in the country and teaming up with another big-time guard in Scottie Barnes.
18. Scottie Lewis Florida
Lewis is very active off the basketball and cuts to the basket very effectively. Also, he has really good athleticism to finish around the rim on drives and rebounding the basketball. Additionally, he can make open threes, but he must improve his overall shooting to become a more consistent offensive player. The driving ability is a big strength of his especially in motion off the ball. Now defensively, he has very good length and athleticism which makes him very good on the ball and he can guard multiple positions. Next, his overall strength must increase to become an even better defender. The Swiss-army knife ability of Lewis makes him one of the best players in the country. Lewis will have a dynamic sophomore season, will develop his offensive game and should be one of the best two-way players in the country.
19. Kofi Cockburn Illinois
Cockburn is a very physical interior presence that is very impactful with his scoring and rebounding ability. If Cockburn gets two feet in the paint with the basketball it is nearly an automatic two points. Further, he does a very good job of sealing his defender with very good hands to secure the basketball consistently. The activity that Cockburn brings in the post with reposting and his footwork is very solid. Continued, his mobility and ability to keep fighting for position are very good, which allows him to be a dominant post scorer. His exceptional size and toughness make him a very difficult matchup for teams in the paint. He’s got good touch around the basket and can finish with contact. As for the defensive end, he must improve his ability to guard face-up bigs and consistently having active hands. Also, he brings really good physicality and does a solid job defending the post. Cockburn will be one of the best bigs in the country next season for Illinois.
20. Isaiah Livers Michigan
Livers is the go-to scorer for Michigan and has really good size. He brings good versatility and can post up smaller defenders effectively and really shoot well from the perimeter. Also, he does an effective job of attacking in transition with his size and ability to finish at the rim. Furthermore, he does a very solid job of attacking in isolated situations with his ability to shoot and drive. Next, he does a pretty good job of moving without the ball and getting in a scoring position. He’s a dependable scorer who brings really good consistency for Michigan. Defensively, he moves well and has the solid length to do a solid job on the ball. His physicality makes drives more difficult and protects the basketball well. Livers will be one of the best wings in the country next season.
