The legendary coach Roy Williams has decided to retire from coaching according to Jon Rothstein.
BREAKING: Roy Williams is retiring from North Carolina, per release.
— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) April 1, 2021
Williams was a head coach for 33 seasons at both North Carolina and Kansas. The Hall of Famer won two championships and made nine Final Fours.
Over the last two seasons, North Carolina had just a 25-19 record. They likely would’ve missed the tournament in 2020 and made it as a no. 8 seed this season.
There are no reports out on who North Carolina will get to fill the position.
