North Carolina
Roy Williams and his staff put together an elite recruiting class with a roster that needed it. The only impact players to return are Armando Bacot and Garrison Brooks. This class is headlined by Caleb Love who can be their point guard moving forward from day one. They continued to add the Carolina size in Day’Ron Sharpe and Walker Kessler to the frontcourt. Next, the perimeter continued to get more help with R.J. Davis and Puff Johnson and a more of a development player with Kerwin Walton. This recruiting class is not loaded with one and done talent, but this class could be around for a few years setting up North Carolina for major success to come. Williams could be looking at one last National Championship run with this class in 2022 or 2023.
Tennessee
Rick Barnes has had major success already in Tennessee with great seasons in 2018 and 2019. Last year was a rebuilding season, but this team will have many pieces going into next season with the core of Josiah-Jordan James, John Fulkerson, Victor Bailey Jr., Yves Ponds and Santiago Vescovi. Now, the class coming in with Jaden Springer and Keon Johnson will have a major role with this team to make this team SEC favorites. Along with, additional frontcourt depth in Corey Walker was added and has a major role moving forward. This class has the potential to put Tennessee in contention a deep NCAA tournament run.
Arkansas
Eric Mussleman is starting to build a roster that will make noise in the SEC on a yearly basis. The guard play of Arkansas will continue to excel with Isaiah Joe leading the way next season. However, there are incoming pieces who will be major factors with Moses Moody and KK Robinson being impactful for years to come for Arkansas. Next, they added a big man in Jaylin Williams who will boost their frontcourt. They also added another combo guard in Davonte Davis who will be an impactful player in time. Arkansas is starting to make noise on the recruiting trail and will grow into being a force in the SEC.
Texas Tech
Chris Beard is one of the best coaches in the country and has a class that can get Texas Tech back to one of the nation’s best teams. They are returning a solid roster of Terrance Shannon Jr., Kyler Edwards and Joel Ntambwe. The Red Raiders also have Jamarius Burton and Mac McClung transferring in and being major impact players for the 2021-2022 season. Furthermore, they have a high-level guard coming in with Nimari Burnett and an impactful wing in Micah Peavy who both will make an impact immediately. They have long term development players in Chibuzo Agbo Jr., and Esahia Nyiwe. Beard could have a team in 2021-22 that is a favorite to win the National Championship.
Gonzaga
Mark Few has a team set up to compete for the National Championship this season with a core of Filip Petrusev, Drew Timme, Joel Ayayi and Corey Kispert. Next, the player who can elevate this team is Jalen Suggs as the lead guard for Gonzaga. This could lead them to the National Championship. Furthermore, there is the additional depth of Julian Strawther and Dominick Harris as bigger perimeter players who could make an impact immediately. This Gonzaga recruiting class with Suggs could get Gonzaga to a new level.
