It’s finally here. Phase two of the National PUBG League kicked off on Saturday, May 4, and the bullets are already starting to fly. The first weekend was a big one, as new teams look to prove themselves against the old teams who want to take the top. Tempo Storm are coming in hot off of their win in phase one, but will they be able to win the glory all over again? Who are the top teams of week one?
Day One
Day one kicked off with a big 13-kill Chicken Dinner for Denial Esports. Denial’s new team member, Shuhroo, had 10 of their 13 kills in this match. He picked up his last kill to win the game, showing that Denial made the right choice in picking him up for phase two.
Match two saw a win for a familiar face when Tempo Storm came out on top. They matched Denial with a 13-kill win of their own. Using the terrain of Miramar to their advantage, they took down SpaceStation. They proved yet again that they are will deserving of their crown from phase one.
BMGaming picked up their first win in match three, putting up seven kills to take the game. BMGaming were formerly Oxymoron, who had just earned their promotion. Their roster was signed by BMG right before phase two began, and they are already showing that they have what it takes to win.
The final match of day one was claimed by eUnited, who took down BMG to take the Chicken Dinner. BMG were so close to getting their second win of the day, but it was stripped away by eUnited in the final seconds of the game. eUnited earned themselves a solid 12 kills in this match.
Day One Standouts
The standouts from day one are Denial Esports and Lazarus. Both of these teams proved that signings can make a big difference. Denial’s Shuhroo showed that he can be a game changer and knows how to get kills. The former Shoot To Kill players showed that they can put up numbers under the name of Lazarus just like they used to. They may not have earned a win in day one, but they looked promising.
Day Two
Day two started off well for Tempo Storm, as they claimed yet another victory. They took out Ghost with 13 kills. It doesn’t look like Tempo Storm is going to back down in this phase. Their victory was followed by a win for Endemic, who took third in the first match. They took an 8-kill Chicken Dinner and earned some much-needed points.
Match three saw another Chicken Dinner for eUnited, who added to their victory from day one. Yet again, they took 12-kills as they fought their way to victory. After that, the final match of the day went to The Rumblers, who had been looking for a win all weekend. They took down 13 opponents, adding themselves into a three-way tie for most kills in phase two.
Day Two Standouts
Day two’s standouts were The Rumblers and eUnited. The Rumblers came out to play and earned themselves a win that would mean a lot to them. They showed a newly promoted team can come on top just like any other team. eUnited finished the weekend on top, and were very convincing with their victories. Could they remain on top and win this phase?
