Bucks point guard Eric Bledsoe will remain in the team’s future plans.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that the Bucks and Bledsoe have agreed to a four-year $70 million contract extension. Bledsoe was slated to become a free agent this summer.
Bledsoe, 29, is having his best NBA season with Bucks and was determined to stay with franchise. He could’ve gone into free agency this summer, but his deal starts to set the market for free agent guards in July. Bledsoe is putting up career numbers this season in Milwaukee. He is averaging 15.7 points per game along with 4.6 rebounds and 5.5 assists. The Bucks currently hold the best record in the NBA.
This extension locks in Bledsoe long term, keeping him alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. All-Star Khris Middleton and newest addition Nikola Mirotic are both free agents this offseason. Getting Bledsoe’s deal done early gives them more focus on retaining those two forwards.
The deal comes the same day as news that Pau Gasol will join the Bucks after being bought out by San Antonio.
