It is 15 weeks into the fantasy football season and the waiver wire will be a hotbed of activity during the next few weeks leading into the championship week(s). Any good champion will need to go to the waiver wire to acquire players to make their team even better. Here are the Fantasy Football: players to add for week 16. (All stats and rankings are for standard, non-decimal scoring)
1. Jamaal Williams, RB, Green Bay Packers
With Aaron Jones injured and Green Bay out of the playoff hunt, it would make sense for the Packers to hold him out of the lineup the next two games with a sprained MCL. Jamaal Williams will step in and had 12 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ game against the Bears. The Packers will have to go to Williams if Jones is officially ruled out, as they would be down two running backs from their opening-game roster (Ty Montgomery was traded to the Ravens).
Williams should have some chances to do damage in the last two games of the season against the Jets and Lions. He is owned in just 11.8% of ESPN leagues heading into the week.
2. Elijah McGuire, RB, New York Jets
Since Isaiah Crowell got injured, Mcguire has played well. He started off with 14 fantasy points against the Bills and picked up 10 more against the Texans. He will be the starter for the last two weeks, which makes him a good option for most rosters.
With Green Bay and New England left on the schedule, McGuire should have similar performances to his last two weeks. He is available in over 66% of ESPN leagues.
3. Mike Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Keenan Allen went down with a hip injury against the Chiefs and Williams stepped up. He finished with seven receptions for 76 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a key two-point conversion for the Chargers at the end of the game.
It is worth checking Allen’s health throughout the week, as Williams hasn’t produced consistently when Allen is in the lineup. He is available in over 70% of ESPN leagues.
4. Kalen Ballage, RB, Miami Dolphins
Frank Gore was another injured player that went down in week 15. Many thought that Kenyan Drake would get a lot of touches in his absence, but instead, it was the rookie Ballage. He had 12 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown in the team’s loss to the Vikings.
Ballage isn’t a home run add, as Drake’s usage has been inconsistent and it is only fair to expect that Ballage’s usage will be similar. He is worth adding, but it would be risky to start him in most leagues. He is owned in less than a percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Dante Pettis, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Pettis has been on this list for the last couple of weeks because he continues to put up numbers and leagues are overlooking that fact. He had five catches for 83 yards against the Seahawks in week 15. With Nick Mullens at quarterback, the 49ers have played well and will want to see what he can really do these last two weeks, which bodes well for Pettis.
The two games they play will be tough because they are against the Bears and Rams, but Pettis has been scorching hot. He is owned in just 37% of ESPN leagues.
