Ohio State announced Nick Bosa has decided to withdraw from the university to focus on his NFL aspirations.
Bosa had been sidelined with a core muscle injury since the Buckeyes’ third game of the season against TCU. His major focus now will be on rehab and training for the NFL Draft.
“I was hopeful that Nick would be able to return to play again for us,” Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said in a statement. “I know this was an extremely difficult and emotional decision for Nick and his family, and I wish him well as he moves on to get himself 100 percent healthy and ready for his next chapter. I want to thank Nick for the remarkable efforts he gave for this program. He is a first-class young man who we have been honored to coach.”
Bosa is considered one of the best prospects for the 2019 NFL Draft. He is in play for the first overall selection in the draft.
In his Ohio State career, Bosa totaled 29 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks through 29 career games. He was the 2017 Big Ten Conference Smith-Brown defensive lineman of the year and an American Football Coaches Association first-team All-American,
